  • Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary is Ghana's most famous example of traditional African conservation. For more than 150 years the people of Boabeng and Fiema have considered the monkeys sacred. The traditional beliefs in both communities prohibit physical harm to the monkeys. Additionally, the 2 communities came together in 1975 to pass a local modern law prohibiting harm to the monkeys.

  • You must a guided tour walking through the forest and see the Campbell's Mona  and Geoffroy's Pied Colobus Monkeys go about their activities The guide will also lead you on a tour of the villages where you can see monkeys interacting with the people
  • Led by a tour guide, you can amble through trails in the lush forest watching for monkeys on the ground and in the canopy of the trees above. You will see a variety of butterflies, birds, and over 90 identified species of trees. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times to see monkeys. The monkeys are viewable all year around, in the wet and dry seasons.
  • Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of our comfortable 6 room guest house, catering services  and bore hole supplying potable water. Other wise bring your tent and camp on the grounds of our guesthouse
  • Take a taxi from Nkoranza to the Visitor Centre and Guesthouse or drive 17km north on Jema Road turn right at Tankor you will get to the Visitor Centre after 5km. From Kintampo go 20km south on Techiman road, turn left at Beposo follow the road about 30km and turn left at Tankor. Go 5km to get to the Visitor Centre.
